Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, are a technology that will continuously evolve and adapt to the future. As this technology grows larger and larger every year, there can be greater ways to use it but also some problems that we have to face. This research study aims to better understand and innovate an idea on how fully automated drones can be used in South African slum areas to send medical supplies that they need across long distances with reduced cost. This research uses a within-subjects experimental method to test drone delivery stability, autonomy, and payload constraints. The result of the study could influence the way that people living in the slum area get medical attention, leading to increased chances.
