Abstract

Music has been an integral part of human culture and society for thousands of years, and is used for a wide range of purposes, including entertainment, religious or spiritual practices, and as a form of communication. It has the ability to evoke strong emotions, memories, and feelings in listeners, and has been shown to have numerous physical and mental health benefits. Apart from our day-to-day life, music has a plethora of applications in clinical work. Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory. Listening to music can help reduce stress and anxiety levels, as well as lower blood pressure and heart rate. In my research paper I will discuss the methods and the results of the study, held by Bethel College Summer Science Institute students and Dwight Krehbiel, about the influence of the birdsong and human music on humans.
