Abstract

Creative writing: “Mamá y Eva” is a creative auto-fiction coming-of-age story of a Chicana woman exploring her sexuality within the confines of her memory of a Catholic upbringing. The story attempts to show the historically overlooked phenomenon of self-pleasure and sexual shame in Mexican American culture. All names are pseudonyms.
