In Indigenous communities across Australia, alchol misuse has had devastating social and health consequences. To date, there have been multiple strategies enacted by both the Australian government and local communities. However, the government legislation has been critized for being culturally insensitive and draconian; additionally, Aboriginal communities have not been able to achieve much success combating alcohol on their own. The majority of successful restrictions have a combination of local community intervention as well as strong legislature.Downloads
